Installation Advice for Automatic Transmission
To prevent problems, please pay attention to the following points:
- Before you start the installation
- check if the delivered gearbox is the correct type.
- inspect the delivered gearbox for any (transport) damage.
- check all oil seals for leaks. Replace if in doubt.
- Additional points of attention:
- For models with an external oil cooler:
- To be eligible for any warranty claims, you must always 'demonstrably' renew the oil cooler. Carefully clean the oil lines from the gearbox to the cooler. A blocked and/or contaminated system can cause a lot of damage to the new gearbox.
- For models with an integrated oil cooler:
- Normally, we supply the automatic gearbox with an oil cooler. You can leave this in place. If it is damaged or not supplied, you must replace it. Never reuse the old gearbox!! A blocked and/or contaminated system can cause a lot of damage to the new gearbox.
- Torque converter: Ensure that the torque converter is deep enough in the gearbox and does not slide forward during installation.
- Oil filling: Always follow the dealer's specifications for viscosity, fill quantities, and filling procedure. Note: Many gearboxes have multiple oil systems, ensure all systems are filled correctly.
- Inspection: After the test drive, check the oil level again and inspect for any leaks.
- Follow (dis)assembly instructions according to factory data (torque specifications, etc.)
- Other:
Oil seals are not covered by the warranty.
Return the old gearbox to Peter van de Laar Schadeauto’s en Onderdelen (unless otherwise agreed).
