Order Oil Pan Online

The crankcase is the part of an internal combustion engine where the crankshaft is housed and rotates. The upper crankcase is typically sealed with a crankcase cover or oil pan, also known as the lower crankcase or oil sump. The oil pan has a drain plug for draining the oil and also helps cool the oil.

Engine Crankcase

The engine crankcase is the lower part of the engine's crankcase. It usually consists of two parts:

  1. The upper crankcase, which houses the crankshaft.
  2. The lower crankcase, which seals the bottom of the engine. In most four-stroke engines, this is also an oil pan where the lubricating oil is stored. This is not the case in two-stroke engines and four-stroke engines with a dry sump lubrication system.
